Terms of Service

Last updated July 14, 2026 · Effective July 14, 2026

Section 1
Acceptance of terms
Plain English: Using Lenerin means you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Lenerin (“Lenerin,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of our website, web dashboard, browser extension, and iOS application (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, installing the browser extension, or installing the iOS app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child profile you create to use Lenerin. The Service is offered to parents; it is not offered directly to children.

Section 2
The service
Plain English: Lenerin shows parents which AI platforms their kids use, and for how long — never what was said.

Lenerin helps parents stay aware of their child’s use of AI chatbots and companion apps. The Service consists of:

  • A browser extension that records which AI platform domains are visited from a child’s browser, and for how long
  • An iOS app that uses Apple’s Family Controls and DeviceActivity frameworks to report on-device AI app usage and threshold alerts
  • A web dashboard where parents view usage summaries, pattern alerts, and a weekly emailed report

As described in our Privacy Policy, the Service is designed to never collect message content, screenshots, keystrokes, or conversation transcripts. It reports usage metadata only. Lenerin is a tool to support parent awareness and conversation — it is not a substitute for parental judgment, and it does not block, filter, or restrict your child’s access to any platform.

Section 3
Accounts & eligibility
Plain English: Parents create and control the account. You're responsible for keeping it secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@lenerin.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including child profile details, and for informing your child that the Service is installed, consistent with the guidance we provide during onboarding.

Section 4
Subscriptions, trials & billing
Plain English: 14 days free, no card required. After that, pick a paid plan to keep using Lenerin. Billing is handled by Paddle.

Free trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full access to the Service and no credit card required. At the end of the trial, you must choose a paid plan to continue using Lenerin; your account and data are not automatically charged.

Paid plans

We offer Basic and Family plans, billed monthly or annually as described on our pricing page. Plan prices are shown in USD and may vary by your billing country. We may change our prices; if we do, we will notify you before the change applies to your next billing period.

Billing & payment processing

Subscriptions are billed and processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, our authorized reseller and merchant of record. Paddle handles payment collection and applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST for your region. Your purchase is subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms in addition to these Terms. Paddle, not Lenerin, is the merchant of record for your transaction and appears on your card or bank statement.

Renewal & cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand. You can cancel anytime from Account → Billing in the dashboard, or through the customer portal linked there. Cancelling stops future renewals; you retain access through the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds

See our Refund Policy for how refund requests are handled.

Section 5
Acceptable use
Plain English: Use Lenerin for its intended purpose — parental awareness, not surveillance of adults or anyone else's kids.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to monitor anyone other than your own minor child, without their knowledge or against applicable law (e.g. a spouse, another adult, or a child who is not your dependent)
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by circumventing rate limits or attempting unauthorized access to other accounts
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties without our consent
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law, including COPPA
Section 6
Children's use of the service
Plain English: Any information Lenerin collects from your child is covered by our Privacy Policy and COPPA.

If you enable a Family Code login for your child, their limited interactions with the Service (notes, weekly confirmations, goals, and the “talk about this” flag) are governed by our Privacy Policy, including its Children’s Privacy (COPPA) section. By enabling this feature, you represent that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian and consent, on their behalf, to that limited collection.

Section 7
Intellectual property
Plain English: We own Lenerin. You own your data. We grant you a license to use the Service; nothing more.

Lenerin and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in the Service, including our software, trademarks, and content. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, family use, subject to these Terms.

You retain ownership of the data you and your child profiles generate. We use it only as described in our Privacy Policy.

Section 8
Disclaimers
Plain English: Lenerin is provided 'as is.' We're not a crisis service, a filter, or a guarantee against harm.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Lenerin reports usage patterns and provides informational context — it does not provide medical, psychological, or legal advice, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. If you believe your child is in immediate danger, contact emergency services or a crisis line directly. Because the Service reports metadata only, and because Apple’s Family Controls and DeviceActivity frameworks impose their own reporting limits on iOS, we cannot guarantee that every session, platform, or pattern will be detected or reported accurately or in real time.

Section 9
Limitation of liability
Plain English: Our liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the past 12 months.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lenerin will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or where prohibited by consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.

Section 10
Termination
Plain English: You can cancel anytime. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, including the Acceptable Use section, after reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, Sections 7–9 and 12 survive.

Section 11
Changes to these terms
Plain English: We'll email you before any material change takes effect.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Section 12
Governing law
Plain English: These terms are governed by Delaware law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where applicable consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where local law provides you a mandatory right to litigate in your home jurisdiction.
